John LoCastro has been an award-winning designer and creative director for more than 40 years. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Design and served as a Designer, Design Supervisor and Creative Director with multiple design firms in North Florida.
As his interests evolved, his love of history drew him to the field of Museum Exhibit Design where he was a partner and Creative Director for almost 20 years. His work can be seen in museums and natural history sites across the eastern seaboard and even The George Washington House in Barbados, British Virgin Islands.
Not one to retire, John is challenging himself to return to his classical training in art. He enjoys using several media, from watercolor and pastel to oil, gouache and casein. With several years of computer illustration and design in the commercial field, he is excited about exploring digital painting media more deeply to enhance his own artistic expression.
John’s interests are diverse: spending time with family and friends; working on museum models; exploring his new home range in NE Florida with Diane, his wife of 48 years; researching his family tree; planning more bucket-list trips; and co-writing and illustrating a sci-fi/fantasy novel with one of his brothers.
